Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Begin your journey with one of the world’s most spectacular flights, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountain range as you descend into Paro Valley.

Warm Welcome & Transfer
On arrival, you’ll be greeted by the Vattara Quest team and assisted with your transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital city.

En-Route Visit: Tachog Lhakhang (Iron Bridge Temple)
Stop to explore Tachog Lhakhang, founded by the legendary bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. Walk across the traditional iron chain bridge and enjoy serene river and valley views.

Evening at Leisure in Thimphu

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing

Buddha Dordenma

Memorial Chorten
Experience the spiritual heart of Thimphu at the Memorial Chorten, where locals gather daily to pray, meditate, and perform ritual circumambulations.

Tashichho Dzong

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha

Scenic Drive via Dochula Pass (3,100m)
Depart Thimphu for Punakha, traveling over the picturesque Dochula Pass. On clear days, enjoy panoramic views of the eastern Himalayan range and stop at the 108 memorial chortens for photos and quiet reflection.

Arrival in Punakha Valley
Descend into the subtropical Punakha Valley, known for its warmer climate, lush landscapes, and fertile farmlands.

Punakha Dzong
Visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, beautifully situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Once the capital of Bhutan, it remains one of the country’s most significant and visually stunning dzongs.

Punakha Suspension Bridge
Walk across one of Bhutan’s longest suspension bridges, adorned with prayer flags and offering sweeping views of the river valley and nearby villages.

Day 4: Punakha – Paro

Hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten
Begin the day with a scenic hike through rice fields and pine forests to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. Perched on a hilltop above the Punakha Valley, this beautiful chorten offers panoramic views of the Mo Chhu River and surrounding mountains, and was built to promote peace and harmony in the kingdom.

Drive Back to Paro
After the hike, travel back to Paro via winding mountain roads, enjoying changing landscapes from subtropical valleys to alpine scenery.

Day 5: Paro – Taktsang Monastery

Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)
Embark on a memorable hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro Valley. This sacred pilgrimage site is Bhutan’s most revered landmark, offering breathtaking views and a deeply spiritual experience.

Kyichu Lhakhang

Evening at Leisure in Paro
Return to Paro and enjoy a relaxed evening to reflect on your journey or explore the charming town at your own pace.

Day 6: Paro – Haa Valley Excursion

Scenic Drive via Chele La Pass
Set out on a beautiful day trip to the remote Haa Valley, traveling over Chele La Pass (3,988m), the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. On clear days, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Jomolhari and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Explore Haa Valley & Local Villages
Discover the tranquil charm of Haa Valley, known for its pristine landscapes, traditional villages, and slower pace of life. Take gentle walks through farmlands and hamlets to experience authentic rural Bhutanese culture.

Picnic Lunch
Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch amidst nature, surrounded by mountain views and peaceful surroundings.

Return to Paro
In the afternoon, drive back to Paro, soaking in the changing landscapes along the way.

Day 7: Departure

Farewell to Bhutan

Transfer to Paro International Airport
